Classroom Blog Setup1.Signing up and Logging into the Global2 site to create our blog – we used the sjwh6md2013 protocol for creating the site address for the blog2.Go through quick overview of my site and other samples and explain components of PAGE – POST- COMMENT areas.3.Appearance and Themes – teachers select their theme based on what they want in sidebar for posts and in menu for pages and generally the look of the site. Select Dashboard and Themes.4. Appearance and Widgets and add the components to the sidebar eg. Calendar, Categories Section for containing objects – when creating the Widget for categories make sure you select SHOW HIERARCHY as it allows for headings and subheadings for the student names you add later. This section is the components you wish to place in the sidebar.5.Categories – we then create a Categories for the POSTS eg. MR M’s Posts – Daily Wrap Posts – Student PostsWhen we create student posts we click on Students Posts Category as the Parent index or subheading and kids names appear indented underneath.

We then create a POST and selected the category to place it under eg. we modified the HELLO post and changed it with a WELCOME POST and added our message to the school and class on it. We don’t see POST headings until a post has been filed in the category.7. We create a test post for each Category and select the category so it will appear in our widget when we view the site.8. We can insert a picture into this post.9 We add a hyperlink to mr H’s blog so teachers can access help files when required.10. We now work on the Menu structure next and set up pages under certain indexes like Curriculum, Homework, Inquiry etc. with sub pages underneath that contain content.

Term 4 2013 23.10.2013

Junior and Senior Teachers

We worked on using POPPLET to create mind maps and we then published the finished product using WIFI photo APP. We simulated exactly what the students would be doing in the classroom with their projects and then inserting the image file created into their work.

Term 4 2013 6.11.2013

Junior and Senior Teachers

We worked on getting feedback for next year and sharing things that worked well and things to improve on for 2014. Also went over some organisational structures for 2014 in and around the flexible learning models. We looked at rotational structures that utilise the Ipads, Desktops and IWB boards as well as other activities. We showed some videos of how this can be achieved and what it may look like to teachers as well as studnets. We also looked at the way it can be planned and implemented across a number of grades simultaneously.

Wikis and Sequence of Learning
We started tonight with the structure of the teachers planning and ideas as to the typical type of activity we would set as a learning task for the students at this stage of the Inquiry. I then added some Contemporary tools that we could use at these stages. We then in our levels worked on copy pasting the Sequence idea that I had on Mr H's Wiki for the Junior grades and had teachers then modify this to suit their cohort of students. I then had them create a www.wallwisher.com account and embed this as a Tuning In strategy in their Wiki.
Contemporary toolsplanning.jpg
Teachers can now continue to build and construct their Inquiry and we can introduce and add some of the tools listed.

At this stage we can look at the following: Focus Creating a WIKISPACE - E Learning Space
Level 1 to 4 Teachers
  • Embedding ICT rich content into the Inquiry process
  • Building E Learning spaces to house and provide interaction with rich activities and resources
  • Tuning In
    • Use of Web 2.0 tools to outline thinking
    • www.bubbl.us and registration to use this throughout the year
  • Finding Out/ Research Phases
    • Use of Research and learning journals to outline research and findings – PowerPoint journal
    • Use of learning spaces designed by teachers where process is outlined and links placed.
    • Engagement in collaborative journals and discussion rooms about our learning
    • Use of Voting Tools in My cLasses and Easyteach to monitor and record data on progress and direction of learning
  • Publishing and Action phases
    • Co constructed learning in that student identify their concept to illustrate and use a negotiated medium to communicate their findings and future actions
